We are looking for 8 groups who will supply two volunteers to train as Safer Homes Assessors.

This means the volunteers will attend a one day’s training at HVA. We will pay your organization £500 for this training. You will be expected to carry out 16 (but a maximum of 20) home safety assessments PER ASSESSOR and for this we will pay your organization £30.00 per survey. The two volunteers, if not already CRB checked will have to be checked and we will pay to have this carried out. You will not be able to carry out any surveys until you are CRB checked.

The area to be covered is Halton and Widnes with at least 50 surveys in the super output areas of Castlefields and Windmill Hill, Hallwood Park and Palacefields and Central Widnes.

The trained assessors will work in pairs and complete paperwork as they go along. They will make a short report to the person being assessed. The report will make recommendations (if any) about the simple actions they could take to make their homes safer. The signature of the assessed person will be required. You will receive payment when all the surveys are completed and sent in to HVA.
