Third Sector Lead Engagement Officer for Health

Third Sector Lead Engagement

My name is Laura Neilson and I am Halton Voluntary Actions’ Third Sector Lead Engagement Officer for Health.

The project is designed to develop sector networks to improve communication, participation and engagement between Halton Borough Council, Halton and St Helen’s PCT and local third sector health groups that have already been commissioned to deliver services, or who have expressed an interest in being commissioned to deliver services.

In support of this aim the following aspects of the project are underway;

  • Facilitating two way communications between the local third sector and the commissioning partners to keep the sector informed about commissioning portfolios and keep the commissioners informed about groups that are potential service providers
  • Looking at national indicators, local priorities and ambitions to identify and map how the local voluntary sector makes an effective contribution towards a Healthy Halton
  • Supporting groups through the PQASSO quality standard
  • Publication of the Health ‘e’ Times newsletter icon Health 'e' Times Issue 7 (406.45 kB)
  • Producing fact sheets and information documents
  • Facilitating events under the banner of Working together towards a healthier Halton’
  • Facilitation of a comprehensive training programme for groups and key partners
  • Working with groups on monitoring and evaluation projects to ensure they meet funding criteria
  • Distribution of third sector guide to commissioning
  • Distribution of third sector guide to quality standards
